Public Works Act 1981

Irrigation

211: Water availability charge

You could also call this:

“The Governor-General decides how much water costs in irrigation areas each year”

You can find out how much water costs in an irrigation district. The Governor-General can decide how much to charge for each unit of water every year. They do this by making an Order in Council. This applies even if someone has already set a price or changed it before.

When the Governor-General makes this decision, it becomes a type of law called secondary legislation. You can find out more about how this type of law is published by looking at Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019.
