You get a notice when the government wants to take your land for a critical infrastructure project. The notice tells you why they want to take your land and what it will be used for, as stated in the Schedule 2A. You can find more information about the project in the Schedule 2A. You have the right to make a submission about the taking of your land. You must send a written notice of your intention to make a submission within 10 working days. Then, you have 20 working days to make your submission. If your land is taken, you are entitled to full compensation under the Public Works Act 1981. You can get compensation for the land being taken for a critical infrastructure project. The government will consider your submission before making a decision about taking your land.
