Public Works Act 1981

Grants of land, etc, in lieu of compensation

109: Execution of certificates on behalf of local authority

You could also call this:

“How local councils sign papers when giving land to people”

When a local authority needs to give someone a certificate of land under section 107, the chief executive of the local authority can sign it. This is usually how it’s done, unless there’s a special rule saying it should be done differently.

You should know that this rule is part of a bigger law about public works. It’s specifically about giving land instead of money when the government needs to use someone’s property.
