Public Works Act 1981

Dealing with land held for public works

43: Land may be sold on deferred payments

You could also call this:

“You can buy government land and pay for it bit by bit over time”

If you want to buy land that was used for a public work, you can pay for it over time instead of all at once. This is called buying on deferred payments. The government minister or your local council can decide how long you have to pay and what the rules are for paying. They might ask you to pay some money upfront as a deposit. This applies to land that is being sold under section 40 or section 42 of the law.
