The Speaker gets to decide some things about information requests and reporting. You need to know the Speaker can decide what expenses or services the Parliamentary Service must report on publicly. The Speaker can also decide what information to report and how to report it. The Speaker decides how to handle requests for information that is not already available. This is for expenses or services determined under section 84(1) of the bill. You can find more information about reporting on expenses in clause 18 of Schedule 3. A decision made under this section is a type of law called secondary legislation. You can find out more about publication requirements for secondary legislation in Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019.
