This bill aims to update the laws about how Parliament works. You will see changes to how public money is used by members and candidates. The bill also looks at employment in certain parliamentary offices. The bill sets out principles for using public money and services. It standardises employment rules in the Office of the Clerk and the Parliamentary Service. It also creates the role of parliamentary security officer and gives them certain powers. The bill has different parts that serve different purposes. Part 2 is about parliamentary privilege and its purposes are outlined in section 10. You can find more information about this in section 10. Other parts of the bill, such as Part 4 and Schedule 3, deal with salaries and allowances for members.
