When you read this part of the proposed Parliament Bill, you need to understand it in a way that helps it achieve its goals. You must also consider the principle of comity, which means the legislative and judicial branches of government respect each other's roles and privileges. This part of the bill is about how the House of Representatives, its committees, and members can use their privileges and powers, which are stated in section 14. When you interpret this part of the bill, you should know that it does not change how Part 2 of the Legislation Act 2019 applies to this proposed Act. You will still have to follow the rules set out in the Legislation Act 2019 when it comes to certain things. This is an important part of understanding the proposed Parliament Bill and how it will work if it becomes law. You can use section 14 to find out more about the purposes for which the privileges, immunities, and powers can be used. This will help you understand how this part of the bill is meant to work. It is all about making sure the different branches of government work together and respect each other's roles.
