You need to know when the Speaker makes a determination. The Speaker must make a determination under section 85(1) once in each term of Parliament. The Speaker talks to the Remuneration Authority and the Minister Responsible for Ministerial Services at the start of each term. A determination stays in force until it is replaced by another one made under section 85(1).
