The Remuneration Authority makes a decision about travel and accommodation expenses once in each term of Parliament. You can think of a term of Parliament like a long period of time when a group of politicians are in charge. The Authority talks to the Speaker and the Minister Responsible for Ministerial Services at the start of each term to plan when they will make their decision. The decision they make stays in place until they make a new one to replace it.
