Illustration for Local Government Act 1974

The Minister can decide to bring an existing drainage channel under the rules in this part of the law. You can ask the Minister to do this if you are a council that owns a drainage channel built under a special law. The Minister will then put a notice in the Gazette, which is like a special newspaper, to say when the rules will start applying to that drainage channel.
