If you break a navigation bylaw, you might commit what is called an infringement offence. This is covered under section 699A of the Local Government Act 1974, but you should know that this section was repealed. It was repealed on 23 October 2013 by section 85(2)(b) of the Maritime Transport Amendment Act 2013.
