The Minister has some important jobs under this Act. You need to know what the Minister does. The Minister's jobs include attracting people to apply for permits, granting permits, and taking them away. The Minister also prepares policy statements and minerals programmes. They make decisions about guarantees and decommissioning petroleum infrastructure and wells, and they work with other agencies that regulate Crown-owned minerals, as seen in section 90E. The Minister collects and shares information about mineral resources to help people make good investment decisions and to improve how related markets work, and they follow the rules outlined in subpart 2 of Part 1B. The Minister does other jobs given to them by this Act.
