When you read this part of the law, some words have special meanings. The word commencement means the day a provision starts. You can find the meanings of current licence holder, current permit holder, licence, and permit in section 89D.

The word petroleum infrastructure is explained in section 89F. Post-decommissioning work means checking decommissioned infrastructure and wells to see if more work is needed. It also means fixing any environmental damage or health and safety risks caused by decommissioning. The word well has the same meaning as in section 89D.

You need to understand these words to know what the law is saying. The law uses these words to explain what is allowed and what is not. It is important to know what these words mean so you can follow the law.
