The chief executive has some important jobs to do under the Crown Minerals Act 1991. You need to know what these jobs are, so you can understand how the law works. The chief executive's jobs include making sure people follow the rules and permits, and investigating when someone might not be following the rules.

The chief executive also has to keep a record of all the permits and who has them. You can think of it like a big list of who is allowed to do what. The chief executive also has to give advice to the Minister about anything to do with the Crown Minerals Act 1991.

The chief executive has to work with other groups that help regulate Crown owned minerals, as stated in section 90E. This means they have to co-operate with these groups to make sure everything runs smoothly. The chief executive also has to do any other jobs that the law says they have to do.
