If you have a permit, you must follow the conditions of the permit. You also have to comply with the Crown Minerals Act 1991 and the regulations, as well as the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and its regulations. You need to do things in a way that is considered good industry practice.

You have to send in royalty returns and pay royalties. You must keep records for at least 7 years after the year they relate to, or for at least 2 years after the permit is no longer in force. You have to work with the Minister, the chief executive, and enforcement officers to make sure you are following the rules.

If you have a permit with one or more other people, you are all responsible for following the rules and doing what the permit says. This means that each of you can be held responsible for making sure everything is done correctly under the permit, the Crown Minerals Act 1991, and the regulations.
