33B: Health and Safety regulator to notify chief executive of breaches of legislation

You could also call this:

"The health and safety regulator must tell the boss if you break health and safety rules."

Illustration for Crown Minerals Act 1991

If you have a permit, the health and safety regulator must tell the chief executive if you get a prohibition notice under section 105 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015. The regulator must also tell the chief executive if an enforcement action, as defined in section 141, is taken against you under that Act. This means the regulator has to report certain actions to the chief executive.

The health and safety regulator is still responsible for making sure the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 is followed, even if you have a permit. You can find more information about this Act on the New Zealand legislation website. The regulator's job is to enforce the health and safety laws.
