Illustration for Crown Minerals Act 1991

A regulatory agency can give information to certain people or groups to help them do their jobs under the Crown Minerals Act. You might get this information if you are the Minister, another Minister, the chief executive, or an enforcement officer. The agency can also share information with other agencies to help them with their work related to permits.

If you get this information, you must keep it secret unless you need to use it to do your job, it is already public, the person it is about says it is okay, or a court says you have to share it. You can also share the information if another law says you have to, or if you are investigating a crime under the Crown Minerals Act or another law.

The agency can share the information if they think it will help you or another agency do your job better under the Crown Minerals Act or another law, such as the law that was amended by the Crown Minerals Amendment Act 2013.
