Illustration for Arms Act 1983

You must show your firearms licence when a Police officer asks to see it. You need to keep your licence in good condition so it is easy to read. If a Police officer asks to see your licence, you can take up to 7 days to show it to them at a place they choose. You can get in trouble if you do not show your licence when asked. You might have to pay a fine of up to $500 if you break this rule. The Criminal Procedure Act 2011 has rules about this. You are responsible for looking after your firearms licence and showing it when required.
