The responsible Minister can recommend making a regulation about fees or charges. You will have to pay a fee for some activities the Police do under the Arms Act. These activities include getting a firearms licence or a dealer's licence. You might have to pay for the Police to process your application for a licence. They can also charge you for training and testing to get a firearms licence. The Police can charge for issuing licences and endorsements. Other activities you might have to pay for include inspections and compliance checks. The Police can charge for testing samples related to firearms and ammunition. They can also charge for processing applications for shooting clubs and ranges. However, you will not have to pay for the Police to respond to emergency calls. You will not have to pay for the Police to investigate crimes or prosecute offenders. The Minister can make regulations about these fees under section 86.
