The Commissioner can issue notices to help you understand certain rules. These rules are about things like keeping firearms safe and how to behave when handling guns. The Commissioner must talk to the Arms Advisory Group before issuing any notice. The Commissioner can give guidance on many topics, including the security of licensed dealer premises, as outlined in section 74(1)(i), and the security of premises where firearms are kept, as outlined in section 74(1)(j). The Commissioner must also consult with the Arms Advisory Group before issuing any notice. The notice must be published in the Gazette or made available to the public in electronic form, as stated in the notice published in the Gazette. The Commissioner has to publish the notice in the Gazette or tell people in the Gazette where they can find it online. You can find more information about the rules and guidelines by looking at the notices issued by the Commissioner. The Commissioner can provide guidance on how to demonstrate positive behaviours and skills when handling firearms, and how to manage situations where non-licensed persons come into possession of a firearm, as well as matters that health practitioners consider when determining whether to notify the Police under section 92.
