Illustration for Arms Act 1983

The registry is a record of information about firearms and people who have licences. You will find details like the number and expiry date of every type of licence a person holds under the Arms Act 1983. It also includes the licence holder's full name, date of birth, and address. The registry has information about endorsements on licences and any extra conditions on a licence. It may have particulars of firearms, restricted weapons, and prohibited magazines, including their make, model, and identifying markings. The registry can include photographs and other information the Commissioner thinks is necessary. This information is used to keep the registry complete and accurate, and to administer the Arms Act 1983 and its regulations, which can be found by following the link to section 74 and section 34A.
