If you are a carrier, you can have certain items like firearms or ammunition when you are transporting them as part of your job. You must be following the rules of your contract and any regulations that apply. A carrier can be a company that transports goods, and it also includes any postal operator as defined in the Postal Services Act 1998. If you are a person who has the power to seize certain items, you can have possession of those items when you are doing your job and following the rules. You can have these items as long as you are acting in the exercise of that power and in connection with your official duties.
