You can renew your dealer's licence from time to time. You must apply to renew your licence before it expires. When you apply to renew your licence, the same rules apply as if you were applying for a new licence, including sections 5A, 5B, and 6 to 8. If you apply to renew your licence but it has not been decided before the expiry date, your licence stays valid until a decision is made. The renewal of your licence starts from the date your old licence expires, or the date the new licence is issued, depending on when it is issued. You will get a new licence that takes effect from the expiry date of your old licence if the renewal is issued before it expires. If the renewal is issued after your old licence expires, the new licence takes effect from the date it is issued.

8ARenewal of dealer’s licence

A dealer’s licence may from time to time be renewed.
An application for renewal of a dealer’s licence must be made before the licence expires.
Sections 5A, 5B, and 6 to 8 apply to an application for renewal of a dealer’s licence as if the application were an application for a new dealer’s licence.
If an application for renewal of a dealer’s licence has been made but not determined before the date on which the licence would otherwise expire, the licence continues in force until the application is determined.
The renewal of a dealer’s licence takes effect from—
the date on which the licence expires, if the renewal is issued before the licence expires; or
the date on which the renewal is issued, if the renewal is issued after the licence expires.
