You might get an improvement notice if a Police officer thinks a pistol shooting club or range is not following the rules. The Police officer can give you a notice if they think you are not following the rules or might not follow them. You will have to fix the problem or stop it from happening within a reasonable time. If you get a notice, you will have to do what it says to fix the problem or stop it from happening. The notice will say how long you have to fix the problem. You can get a notice if you are not following the rules of the Arms Act 1983 or if you are not following the conditions of your certificate of approval. You can find more information about the rules in the Arms (Shooting Clubs, Shooting Ranges, and Other Matters) Amendment Act 2025.
