Illustration for Arms Act 1983

You have a firearms licence with an endorsement. The endorsement lasts for a certain time. It depends on the type of endorsement and your situation. You work for a licensed dealer and have an endorsement under section 30 or 30B. Your endorsement lasts for one year, unless something happens first. This includes your licence expiring or being surrendered. If you got your endorsement under section 30B after 12 April 2019, it lasts for two and a half years. This is unless your licence is surrendered or revoked. For other people, endorsements last as long as their licence is valid. You need to check the conditions of your endorsement. It is linked to your licence and employment. The endorsement can be revoked or surrendered.
