You can renew a certificate granted under section 38V one or more times. When you apply to renew your certification, the same rules that apply to a new application for certification apply to you, unless certain conditions are met. You are treated as having a new certification if your certificate is renewed. You are considered to have a new certification if your certificate is renewed under section 38V. If the shooting range's circumstances have not changed significantly in 5 years, you can use a form approved by the Commissioner to renew your certification instead of following the usual process under section 38S. This makes it easier for you to renew your certification.
