If your firearm, magazine, or part is lost, stolen, or destroyed, you must tell the Police right away. You have to give the Police all the information you have about what happened. The Police will tell you how to do this. If you do not tell the Police without a good reason, you can get a fine of up to $10,000. The Commissioner will decide how you should tell the Police. You must follow the rules to avoid getting in trouble. You are responsible for reporting the loss, theft, or destruction of your firearm, magazine, or part to the Police as soon as possible.
