Arms Act 1983

Direct access by certain government agencies to registry

38ZH: Publication of direct access agreements

You could also call this:

"Agreements about access to information are published online for you to see."

Illustration for Arms Act 1983

When you look at agreements about direct access, you will see them published on two websites. You can find them on a website run by the agency that has access, and on a website run by the Police. This helps you know what is in these agreements. If some information is sensitive, it may not be published. This can happen if the information can be withheld under the Official Information Act 1982. In this case, you might see a summary of the agreement instead. You can find these summaries on the same two websites. They will be on the website run by the agency and on the website run by the Police. This way, you can still get an idea of what the agreement is about.
