Illustration for Arms Act 1983

You commit an offence if you sell or supply a prohibited firearm or prohibited magazine to someone who does not have a permit. You can sell or supply to someone with a permit issued under section 16(1) or section 35A. If you do this without a reasonable excuse, you can go to prison for up to 5 years. You do not commit an offence if you sell or supply a semi-automatic pistol to someone who has a permit under section 18 or section 35, and they are using it for a special reason mentioned in section 29(2)(b), (c), (d), or (e). This means you need to be careful who you sell or supply firearms to. You must follow the rules to avoid getting in trouble. If you are unsure about the rules, you should look at the specific sections of the law, such as section 16(1), section 35A, section 18, section 35, and section 29(2)(b), (c), (d), or (e), to understand what you can and cannot do.
