The responsible Minister must review how the Arms Act 1983 is working after most of the changes from the Arms Legislation Act 2020 have been in force for 3 years, except for sections 106 and 108. You can find these sections at https://legislation.govt.nz/act/public/1986/0120/latest/link.aspx?id=LMS256869 and https://legislation.govt.nz/act/public/1986/0120/latest/link.aspx?id=LMS256875. The Minister will prepare a report on this review, including suggestions for changes to the Act. The review will look at how the registry is working, all the offences and penalties in the Act, and the impact of the Arms Legislation Act 2020. The Minister has 18 months to complete the review after the 3-year period. The Minister will then present the report to the House of Representatives as soon as possible. In this case, the amendment Act refers to the Arms Legislation Act 2020, which you can find at https://legislation.govt.nz/act/public/1986/0120/latest/link.aspx?id=LMS256569.
