Illustration for Water Services Act 2021

The purpose of exemptions is to give flexibility when following rules is impracticable or too costly. You can get an exemption if it is hard to follow the rules because of the type of drinking water supply or the supplier. Exemptions can also be allowed if they are minor or technical, as stated in sections 57 and 58.
