Drinking water safety plans

30Owner must have drinking water safety plan

  1. An owner of a drinking water supply must prepare a drinking water safety plan in relation to the owner’s supply that complies with legislative requirements.

  2. However, the owner of a drinking water supply is not required to prepare a drinking water safety plan if the drinking water supply supplies no more than 25 consumers.

  3. The owner must lodge with the Water Services Authority

  4. a copy of the plan; and
    1. if the owner makes material changes to, or replaces, the plan, a copy of the amended or replacement plan as soon as is reasonably practicable after the amendment or replacement is made.
      1. The owner must—

      2. implement the plan; and
        1. ensure that the owner’s drinking water supply is operated in accordance with the plan.
          1. An owner of a drinking water supply may satisfy the requirement in subsection (3)(b) in respect of a drinking water plan or an aspect of the plan by employing or engaging an operator.
