When you are appointed, the chief executive must write down the period of your appointment and the tasks you must do under this Act. You will know what you are responsible for and how long you will be doing it. The chief executive can also decide on any conditions for your appointment. The chief executive can renew your appointment according to section 84. Your appointment can have conditions that the chief executive thinks are suitable. You can find out more about how appointments can be renewed. If you want to resign from your appointment, you must give the chief executive at least 90 working days' written notice, as stated in section 83. This means you must tell the chief executive in writing that you want to resign, and you must do this well in advance. The chief executive will then know that you plan to resign from your appointment.
