You need a drinking water safety plan. This plan must be suitable for the size and complexity of the water supply. It must identify hazards and assess risks. You must manage these risks to ensure the water is safe. The plan must be reviewed and updated as needed. It must also include monitoring and procedures to check it is working. The plan must have a multi-barrier approach to keep the water safe. This approach prevents hazards, removes particles and pathogens, kills pathogens, and maintains water quality. You may need a source water risk management plan, depending on what section 43 says. You must use residual disinfection in the water supply, unless you have an exemption under section 58. You must ensure you provide enough water to each point of supply, as required by section 25. You must also have a plan to respond to events and emergencies, and follow any compliance rules.
