The Water Services Authority must create rules for laboratories that test drinking water. You need to know what these rules are so you can understand how laboratories work. The Authority must decide things like what standards laboratories must meet and how often they should be checked. The Authority must also say how long a laboratory's accreditation lasts and when it needs to be renewed. They must make sure laboratories are checked at least every three years. You can find out more about how these rules are published by looking at Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019. The Water Services Authority has to make rules about things like forms and procedures for laboratories. They also have to make rules about how to deal with complaints about laboratories and what laboratories must tell the Authority. The Authority can decide other things it thinks are necessary or appropriate for laboratories.
