Commerce Act 1986

Regulated goods or services - Default/customised price-quality regulation - Customised price-quality paths

53W: Term of customised price-quality paths

You could also call this:

"How long a customised price-quality plan lasts, usually 5 years, but can be 3-5 years"

Illustration for Commerce Act 1986

A customised price-quality path usually lasts for 5 years. You can think of it like a plan that sets out how something will be done over a certain period of time. The Commission is in charge of deciding how long the plan will last.

If the Commission thinks a shorter plan would be better, they can make it last less than 5 years, but it must be at least 3 years long. This means the Commission has some flexibility to decide what will work best.

The Commission's decision is important because it helps make sure the plan meets its purpose, which is set out in this part of the law, as outlined in the Commerce Act 1986.
