The purpose of this Act is to help competition in markets. This means businesses try to offer you the best products and services. You can benefit from this in the long term as a consumer in New Zealand.
This Act wants to make sure you have lots of choices when you buy things. It aims to keep prices fair and products good quality.
The Act is in place to promote your interests as a consumer. It does this by making sure businesses compete with each other. You can read more about how the Act works in other sections, such as the ones linked to from section 4 of the Commerce Amendment Act 2001.
