If you were a lay member of the High Court appointed under the Commerce Act 1975, you are also considered a lay member appointed under the Commerce Act 1986. This means that your appointment under the old act is still valid under the new act. You can find more information about the changes made to this provision in the Commerce Amendment Act 2008, which repealed this section on 14 October 2008.
