Commerce Act 1986

Enforcement, remedies, and appeals - Regulated goods or services

86A: Order requiring information disclosure requirement to be complied with

You could also call this:

"Court order to make someone share information they are supposed to"

Illustration for Commerce Act 1986

The court can tell a supplier of regulated goods or services to give information they are supposed to. You might be wondering what regulated goods or services are - these are products or services that the government keeps an eye on to make sure they are fair for everyone. The court will decide this if the Commission asks them to, and they will say when the supplier needs to give the information.

The court's order will say when the supplier must comply, which means they must do what the court says by a certain date or within a certain time frame. This is like getting a deadline to finish your homework, and you need to make sure you do it on time. The supplier will know exactly how long they have to give the information the court is asking for.
