54X: Savings provision for existing levy regulations for electricity lines businesses

"Old rules still apply to some big electricity companies"

Illustration for Commerce Act 1986

If you own a large electricity lines business, some rules still apply to you. These rules were made under section 57ZK before some other rules were repealed. You have to follow these rules for every financial year before the new rules made under section 53ZE started applying to you.

When these old rules apply to you, they include the costs of the Commission doing its job and making sure people follow the rules. The words used in these rules have the same meaning as they did when the rules were first made.

You have to keep following these old rules as if they were part of the new rules, with some changes to make them work with the new system.
