Illustration for Commerce Act 1986

If you break a Commission service quality code, a court can stop you. The court can do this if the Commission or someone else asks them to. The court can tell you to stop doing something that breaks the code.

If you refuse or fail to do something you are supposed to do, the court can tell you to do it. This can happen if not doing the thing is against the code or an information disclosure requirement. You might have to do the thing if you are proposing to refuse or fail to do it.

You can find more information about this in the Local Government (Water Services) (Repeals and Amendments) Act 2025 or check the latest version of the Act for updates.
