51C: Consultation on draft competition report

You could also call this:

"The government asks for your opinion on a draft report about fair competition before making it final."

Illustration for Commerce Act 1986

When a report about competition is being written, the Commission has to make a draft of the report available to the public. You can then look at the draft report and give your comments on it. The Commission must give you a reasonable amount of time to make your comments.

The Commission has to think about the comments you and others make when they are writing the final report. They must consider all the comments they get within the time they allowed for comments.

The Commission is following rules that were updated by the Commerce Amendment Act 2018, which is a law that helps guide how the Commission works.
