Illustration for Commerce Act 1986

If you fail to follow a Commission service quality code without a good reason, the court can make you do certain things. The court can order you to share information with the public or a specific person, and this information must be something you already have or can access. You will have to share this information in a specific way and at a specific time, and you will have to pay for it yourself.

The court can also order you to publish a statement to correct any wrong information, and the court will decide what this statement should say. You can find more information about this in the Commerce Act 1986. The court can make these decisions as part of a bigger case or on its own, and it can hear the application from the Commission at the same time as other related cases.
