Illustration for Commerce Act 1986

The Commission has to investigate how some airport services are controlled if the Minister tells them to. You can think of the Minister like a boss who gives instructions. The Commission can also decide to investigate on its own. If the Minister tells the Commission to investigate, they must do it in writing and say when the Commission needs to report back. The Minister will tell the Commission when they need to make a recommendation, and this will be done according to rules set out in section 56H.
