The Commission can make rules to protect people who use water services. You can find these rules in the information disclosure regulations under subpart 12 of Part 4, which is explained in sections 57D and 57E. These rules might require water suppliers to share information about the service they provide.

The Commission can ask water suppliers to share details about complaints they receive from you. This includes how many complaints they get, what the complaints are about, when they got them, and how they fixed the problems. They also have to say how they resolved each complaint.

This rule does not stop the Commission from using its other powers under this Act or any other law.

57ZAInformation disclosure requirements relating to consumer protection

  1. The Commission may include requirements relating to protecting consumers of water services in any information disclosure regulation that applies under subpart 12 of Part 4 (see sections 57D and 57E).

  2. Those requirements may require the disclosure of information about consumers’ experience of the services provided by their supplier, including—
