Illustration for Commerce Act 1986

The Commission checks if suppliers follow price-quality paths. You need to know that the Commission can ask a supplier for information. The Commission can ask for a written statement saying if the supplier followed the rules. The Commission can also ask for a report signed by an auditor to check the statement. The supplier must give the Commission enough information to decide if they followed the rules. The supplier's director must sign a certificate to confirm the information is true. The Commission can do this to monitor compliance with a price-quality path, which can be a default path, a customised path, or an individual path under subpart 7, and the Commission also uses its powers under section 98.
