Animal Welfare Act 1999

Use of animals in research, testing, and teaching - Restrictions

82: Restrictions on research, testing, and teaching involving use of animals

You could also call this:

"Rules for using animals in research, testing, and teaching"

You cannot do research, testing, or teaching with animals unless you have a special approved code of ethical conduct. You can also do these things if someone with this approved code hires you to do the work. This person must have a contract with you that says you can carry out the research, testing, or teaching.

If you break this rule, you will commit an offence. This means you will do something against the law. You must follow the rules to avoid this.
