26F: Powers of New Zealand Fish and Game Council

You could also call this:

"What the New Zealand Fish and Game Council is allowed to do to carry out its jobs."

The New Zealand Fish and Game Council has the power to do what is necessary to carry out its functions. You can think of functions like jobs the Council has to do. The Council can make rules for how it runs its business and deals with money. It can also hire staff, like a manager, to help it work efficiently. The Council can spend money it receives to carry out its jobs, and it can enter into contracts to provide services. The Council can also enter into contracts on behalf of other Fish and Game Councils, but it needs their authorisation to do so. For example, if another Council wants the New Zealand Fish and Game Council to provide a service, they can enter into a contract together. The New Zealand Fish and Game Council can appear in court and be heard on matters that affect its jobs, as stated in section 26C(1)(g).
