Conservation Act 1987

Control of dogs

26ZU: Matters that may be included in declarations of controlled dog areas or open dog areas

You could also call this:

"What's included when the government declares dog areas"

When the Minister makes a declaration about controlled dog areas or open dog areas, you can expect to see some details included. The Minister may give a name to these areas and define their boundaries. They can also set conditions for accessing these areas and controlling dogs in them. The Minister may specify when dogs are allowed in controlled dog areas, including the times of day and periods of the year. The Minister can describe the area and its boundaries in several ways, such as by referencing a plan or a survey, or by using a description that is linked to a map. They can also use a description or plan from a conservation management strategy, as notified or approved under section 17F, or from a relevant Gazette notice, and they may reference a plan certified as correct for the purposes of section 62, or a plan lodged in the Office of the Chief Surveyor and approved by the Chief Surveyor, as mentioned in section 26ZS.
