Sports Fish and Game Councils - Fish and Game Councils

26P: Establishment and powers of Fish and Game Councils

You could also call this:

"Rules about setting up and running Fish and Game Councils in New Zealand"

The government sets up a Fish and Game Council for each region in New Zealand. You can find out what regions are defined by the Minister under section 26A(1)(c). Each Fish and Game Council is like a separate organisation with its own identity.

Each Fish and Game Council has the power to make decisions and take actions like a person would. It can do things that are allowed by this Act, other laws, or rules of law. You can think of it like a person who can make choices and take actions.

A Fish and Game Council can only use its powers to do its job, which is to manage and look after sports fish and game. It cannot use its powers for any other reason.
